Halios Capital was founded by and managed by Mr Demetrios G. Halios. Demetrios’ last appointment was a seventeen-year tenure with the Taxation Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus. Prior to that, he was employed in the private sector for seven years by two of the “Big4” international audit firms.
During his professional career Demetrios gradually accumulated a wealth of knowledge and a highly specialized skill-set in a number of areas that were directly related to and entailed by his duties and responsibilities within the Ministry of Finance. In particular he was actively involved in drafting and implementing domestic tax policy, gained considerable exposure in international tax matters as well as dealing with and pro-actively addressing state budget issues. Over the years, he developed a robust and highly credible personal network, both in the private and public sector, of exceptionally high calibre professionals in their respective fields. The professional sectors that are holistically covered by his network of close personal relationships include international taxation, management consultancy, real estate investments, corporate advisory services as well as several other closely related market segments.
In light of the close professional associations with a select group of potential strategic partners, and the very promising developments relating to the political settlement of the Cyprus issue, which is expected to boost economic activity on the island; Demetrios launched Halios Capital, deemed a natural progression to leverage and capitalize on his professional track record and meet the requirement for flawless, all-encompassing services for high profile clients, including the specialisation in citizenship and residency services and consultancy.
Other appointments of Demetrios include a number of years of participation at the Cyprus Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, ending with the position of Vice-President. All such appointments were after election by the members of the Institute. The positive election results over the years was a reflection of the tangible support his nomination gained from members representing professional interests both in the private and the public sector.
The long-term strategic vision behind the incorporation of Halios Capital is to provide a unique value proposition to HNWI as well as global financial institutions, both in terms of the sophistication of professional services and cost effective solutions.
Furthermore, the setting-up of multi-level strategic alliances with high calibre associates as well as the adherence to the highest code of ethics and professional practice standards will enable the firm to achieve its overarching goal, namely, delivering exceptional value to its client base.
